Our company has been in the Billi-Batistoni family for four generations. Our founder, Giulio Batistoni, was a tenant farmer of the Count Della Gherardesca, and, at the end of the nineteenth century, he bought his first piece of land, which he later bequeathed to his son Osvaldo. Osvaldo then bequeathed it to his daughter, Marisa, and son-in-law, Vincenzino Billi, who started up the business. This business was not only based on wine and extra virgin olive oil, but also on producing excellent fruit and vegetables. From a wine making perspective, the turning point took place in 1996, the year in which the family inheritance was passed on to Stefano Billi who planted new vines, selecting grape varieties and clones according to the type of soil that was found in the company's vineyard. Afterwards, Stefano's wife, Silvia, also joined the family business. In addition to the vineyards, an olive grove of about 1000m was added to complete the range of produce.
